“Effective Crowd Control” & “Managing Supply Chain InfoSec Risk” | Belfast

Effective crowd control – managing 3rd party integrity risk

With the UK Bribery Act having been in force for well over two years, and with regulators stepping up enforcement of the Bribery Act, knowing who you are doing business with has become increasingly important. This session will address how implementing integrity due diligence research on suppliers, agents and third parties can help mitigate the risk of falling foul of anti bribery legislation.

In addition, as organisations increasingly look to overseas markets for export opportunities, cost-effective suppliers, acquisition targets or joint venture partners, managing the bribery and reputational risks associated with doing business with overseas entities is of increasing importance. Reputation is one of the most valuable assets of any organisation, being associated with the wrong type of third party has the potential to cause considerable damage. This session will explore how the associated reputational risks of doing business with unfamiliar organisations can be mitigated.

Speaker: Craig Fitzpatrick, Manager of Corporate Intelligence at PwC Forensic Services

ISO 27001 – how to guarantee your supply chain is managing its information security

Security incidents where companies do not take adequate steps to protect personal information can cause significant disruption to an organisation’s reputation, supply chain and finances. This session will address how implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS) will help your supply chain manage these risks in a systematic way. It helps businesses create a best in class ISMS, safeguard its information assets, protect its reputation and manage risk in an ever evolving technological world.

Understanding your supply chain security risks is the first step in turning them into opportunities. In a world of globalisation, managing your supply chain security risks demands a proactive, integrated approach. Contrary to popular belief, ISO 27001 is not just for IT companies. This standard has been implemented by a wide range of organisations ranging from Health Trusts, to Local Authorities to private sector companies who want to demonstrate its dedication to safeguarding its most valuable assets.
